CPM-Committee on
HISTORY |
Update from the Virginia General Assembly.... The House Commerce and Labor committee has passed HB 12, which represents a bipartisan compromise through the work of Del. Glen Oder (R - 94, Newport News) and Del. John O'Bannon (R - 73, Henrico County), the Black Caucus, and members of the House of Delegates leadership. It goes a long way to reforming Payday Lending in the Commonwealth, and is supported by the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy. There is concern that a Payday Loan bill in the Senate might wipe out the benefits of HB 12. The Virginia Interfaith Center is asking people to let their elected representatives -- in both the House and the Senate -- know they support HB 12.
